Latest Sermon Review: The Beloved of the Lord
by Pastor Vicky
Everyone remembers that at Pentecost, the Holy Spirit descended as Jesus predicted, and the Jerusalem Church was formed. Then everyone loved each other and worshiped and praised God together (Worship), studied the Bible together (Instruction), ate together, and had no lack of fellowship life (Fellowship). Then it was gone.
What did they lack? (Acts 1:8) Evangelism. This point was overlooked in the comfort zone of Jerusalem. But the Holy Spirit never left, and made all things work together for good. Through the great persecution, except for the apostles who stayed behind (1:4-8), most people took the gospel to various parts of the Roman Empire and spread it. (Acts 8:1-8) When the disciples preached the gospel in Samaria, they saw that the locals were very happy to hear the gospel of Christ, and they listened to the disciples' words with one heart. Many people were healed and set free. The disciples realized that the Holy Spirit led them back to God's complete will. They were powerful when they obeyed, and others were blessed. This scattered Jerusalem church is truly a complete church in accordance with God's will.
Worship, instruction, fellowship, evangelism (WIFE) The church is the bride loved by Jesus Christ, and He will accomplish it. If the church or our personal faith walks into a comfort zone or misunderstanding, no longer putting the Lord first, and makes the Holy Spirit worried, then the God who loves us will always find a way to illuminate us and pull us out of darkness into light. Our church has also had problems with the Jerusalem Church since the epidemic, and the Holy Spirit reminded and rebuked us for being lukewarm and not preaching the gospel. In the past year, we have faced various challenges such as repentance, evangelism, church establishment, and moving. Relying on God's love, He brought us back to His will. We are loved by the Lord, His hands are not shortened, and His arms are not sunken. The Holy Spirit will remind us through prayer, scriptures, environment, etc., reminding us that we have stayed in the comfort zone for too long or walked into a blind spot. May the Lord give us the opportunity to obey His guidance, quickly walk out, and walk back to His will.
